Product Reviews & Affiliate Links
Most of the product reviews included in the site are from Amazon, the largest ecommerce platform in the world and also the biggest affiliate marketplace. To earn commissions from these reviews, you will need to join the Amazon Associates program.
The Amazon Associates program is free to join and available in most countries worldwide. Before anything else, you will need to create an Amazon Associates account.
1- Register an Amazon Associates account
– Go to the Amazon Associates Central homepage.
– Click the “Sign Up” button.
– Log in with your existing Amazon account or create a new one dedicated to your affiliate business.
Step 2: Enter Your Account Information
– Provide the name, address, and phone number of the person or entity who will receive payments.
– Confirm if you are a U.S. person for tax purposes.
Step 3: List Your Websites
– Enter the full URLs of the websites, blogs, or social media channels (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Facebook) where you plan to promote Amazon products.

Step 4: Create Your Profile
– Choose a “Store ID” (usually your website name or a unique username).
– Write a brief description of what your platforms are about and the types of products you intend to link to.
– Select the categories that best describe your content (e.g., “Pet”, “Health & Beauty” or “Home Improvement”).
Step 5: Define Your Traffic and Monetization
– Briefly explain how you drive visitors to your site (such as SEO or Social Networks).
– You can select “Amazon Associates is the only way I monetize my site” at this step.
Step 6: Wait for Approval
If you provide accurate information during registration, approval usually happens quickly. In most cases, approval takes around one day, although this can be slightly shorter or longer depending on your situation.
2- Adding Your Associate ID to the Review Posts
Once you are approved, you can start earning commissions as an Amazon affiliate. The first thing you should do is add your Associates ID to all product reviews on the site. Here is how to do it.
1- Get your Associates ID, for example pawplanet-20.
2- Go to your WordPress dashboard, then click Posts.
3- Use the post filter and select Product Reviews to display all product review posts.
4- Click on any product review to edit it.
5- Scroll down to the affiliate link field. You will see a raw product link like
https://www.amazon.com/dp/PRODUCTID/
Add your Associates tag to the end of the link using this format:
?tag=yourtag-20
After adding the tag, the full link should look like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/PRODUCTID/?tag=yourtag-20
6- Copy the tag portion, for example ?tag=pawplanet-20, and paste it into the affiliate link field of all other product review posts.
7- Go back to Posts and filter by Top Product to display all product comparison posts.
8- Each product comparison post contains multiple products. Make sure your Associates tag is added to the product link for every product listed in each comparison post.
9- Once all links are updated, your site is ready to start earning Amazon affiliate commissions.
When you create new product reviews and get affiliate links for the products you are reviewing, make sure you always use the correct affiliate link format.
Your Amazon affiliate link should look like this:

Using this format ensures your Associates ID is properly attached, so you earn commissions on every qualifying purchase made through your links.
